My Story
My fitness journey is a little different…

My relationship with fitness was never about weight.

It was never about trying to be my smallest self, doing excess cardio and going on restrictive diets to lose weight.

I never exercised as a form of punishment.

For me, from a young age fitness was about performance and mindset... and this still stands.

I grew up watching my dad excel in his sport.

I watched him be disciplined, work extremely hard every single day, break boundaries, and set world records which he still holds.

This was all whilst battling alcoholism.

Although sober since I was born it was something he battled with and that’s where I started to learn about mindset and focus.

I idolised him and wanted to achieve the same success in my sports; I quickly became the kid that was pushed very hard.

I did excel and played at the top level for Camogie (Irish Sport) from a young age and for many seasons.

However, when my dad suddenly passed away my life crumbled…

My training partner, mentor, idol and father was gone.

I spiralled… and lost my drive and love for fitness.
It was a constant reminder of everything bad in my life.

After a while this is where my mindset kicked in again.

I wanted to do another season at the top,
I needed to graft to get back to top fitness levels,
I needed to build a more resilient mindset,
I needed to become comfortable with now running or doing my gym sessions alone…

So one day I just did!

I haven’t looked back again since.

I turned to fitness when in my darkest and lowest place to dig me out, to lift me up.
And it did...

This is something I still do!

I train for performance in the sense that I want to be fitter, faster, stronger and better than I was the day before.

But I also train for my mind - It’s me time with no disruptions!

I couldn’t be happier helping the women inside the EMA:
-
Break barriers, push boundaries and achieve things they never thought they could achieve. Whether that’s completing a 5k, doing a HYROX, or entering the weights section in the gym for the first time!
-
Learn that food is fuel and learn how to fuel their bodies adequately to perform their best.
-
Learn how to use fitness as a tool to develop a strong mindset. To develop discipline.

The EMA is about living a Fit For Purpose lifestyle.

Everyone has a fitness purpose and I love helping women find theirs.
