Every Move Academy Team Training Day: January 2025

Our first team training day of the year took place on Sunday, 9th January at the impressive Steel Foundry Crossfit box in Manchester.


We were delighted to welcome our regulars and lots of new faces from our online community for an opportunity to come together for a day of learning, training, and bonding! Luckily for me (Megan), I got to be in attendance and have the opportunity to meet, chat and bond with everyone in this amazing community!


We got off to a great start as we began the day with a Goal Setting Masterclass, where we shared some of our proudest achievements of 2024 and ideas of how we will challenge ourselves in 2025. The goal was to develop a clear vision of what our first half of 2025 should look like in order to achieve more BIG goals!


After our gol setting masterclass, Alex, Sarah & I took our members through a group warm up... It was then time to let the fun and games begin!


The team got their training started by diving into a strength block of Power Clean & Jerks, where we went through the movement breakdown & pratcised some technique work. The team then had a chance to slowly build their way into a heavy single.


We weren't surprised to see PB's being smashed left, right, and centre, and our clients were only just getting started!



Next up, round two: Pairs Workout!


Here we saw each pair take on a Hyrox inspired AMRAP style session! This saw the pairs work for 3 mins and rest for 1 - easy right? Try that by 8 rounds/stations!!! First, each team had to buy their way into each round of the workout with a 200m run. One team member got to work on their station while the other got some valuable seconds (and rare!) rest for the.


Exercises/Stations included Ski erg, Sled push, Sled pull, Burpee board jumps, rower, Farmer carry, Lunges & the dreaded Wall balls.



As if that wasnt enough 'FUN', the team still had to tackle the final workout...

The EMA GAUNTLET still loomed!


Two teams took on the Gauntlet where they got their heads down and worked together to complete the workout in a waterfall style. This however, was in fact a competition, where the teams competed side by side, head to head! Some of the exercises they had to take on included; ski erg, burpees, box jumps, kettlebelll swings and sit ups!



None of this would have been possible without the never-ending encouragement and team spirit that our community brings to each and every training day!


After all their hard work and determination, we couldn't let our members go home on an empty stomach!


We signed off another incredibly successful team training day by heading for a delicious team roast at The Wharf!
